Anchored by East Lake Park, the neighborhood is adjacant to the neighborhoods of Woodlawn, Wahouma, South East Lake, Roebuck, Zion City, and Airport Hills. East Lake emerged as a neighboring incorporated area to Birmingham. It was annexed into Birmingham in 1910.
