It abuts the neighborhoods of Ensley, Oak Ridge, and Wylam and is adjacent to the unincorporated communities of Minor and McDonald Chapel. It extends through western Jefferson County to the Walker County line encompassing Port Birmingham on the Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River.
