Life Expectancy

Life expectancy is a measure of how long a person may live, based on the year of their birth, their current age and other demographic factors including gender. It is influenced by all of the diverse biological, cultural, and environmental determinants that affect health and well-being along the life course from before birth to death. Although it is a useful summary measure of overall health performance, it does not elaborate on particular causes of sub-optimal health within the population. Data are available via local or state vital statistics systems.
