Population
Population is reported in order to have a baseline measure of the number of residents in each neighborhood relative to the overall City population. This helps provide a sense of the neighborhood’s population density as well as the social, economic, and environmental impact the indicators may have, not only on the neighborhood itself, but also city-wide. The data is extracted from the most recent American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year estimate. The boundaries for each of the block groups are collapsed to city-defined neighborhood boundaries and appropriately weighted.
